Pudding Recipe for Nursing Mother
The girls LOVE this stuff. It can even be offered between pups when they are whelping. They like having something cool to lick and the extra calcium helps in producing contractions.
Mix the following in a saucepan and cook to pudding consistency.
a.. 2/3 cup sugar
b.. 6 tablespoons cornstarch
c.. 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
d.. 4 cups milk (or one can evaporated milk plus equal parts water to make
a quart)
e.. 4 egg yolks
f.. 3 teaspoons vanilla
Cool and offer to new mother. She can eat as much as she wants.

We have used this and find it useful. We have given it cold, right out of the refrigerator and the new mother gobbles it down with no problems. Has never caused diarrhea and brings in abundance of milk!!!
